I see no past repairs, cracks or openings on the violin. This violin exibits various dings, dents, scrapes and scratches; all normal signs of use and age - nothing that will effect the sound in my opinion.
The violin is in a good playing order: It responds to bow with ease and balance up and down, and from left to right.
The sound is big, sonorous and rich. It can be played soft without being sluggish and aggressive without being harsh.
In all: it sounds a lot better than I can play it; and it deserves more appreciative, and discriminative player.
I bought this violin from music teacher's widow some years ago ih hope that I'll become a great player one day; it has not happened.
There were no papers of any kind in the old fancy leather case in which the violin was presented. I had to throw the old case away for it was falling apart, but there will be another case good for shipping and protection with this violin.
In general my violin knowledge is very limited, and that is why I have listed many high resolution pictures to help with your decision.

This is a full sized violin. The measures are: 593 x 359 x 205 mm. and sides are 30 - 31 mm. high between top and bottom.
