A FINE HAND CHASED THREE (3) PIECE STERLING SILVER TEA SET by INTERNALTIONAL SILVER CO. in the PRELUDE "HAND CHASED" PATTERN...not to be confused with the simpler, plain version.

Indeed, the extra time and effort they spent on this set makes all the difference in the world. Floral bouquets and sprays on all the pieces make for a more Victotrian style. In fact, the form is typical 1750-1790 English Georgian. However the hand chase work looks like what happened to so much of the hollowware and flatware from those times. In that they were embellished in a manner that suited the Victorians and resold. You've seen them before...the berry spoons or the teapots or the tankards with all that chase work and repousse....well none of that was original to the piece. OK then, enough silver history...

This set is a good firm weight and perfect for a small gathering of 1-3 people. The three pieces weigh 30.3 ounces. A better thickness and weight since the set is not big. The teapot measures 9.25" tall x 7" across. The creamer is 4.25" tall and the open creamer is 4.75" across the widest points.

  This would be a great service for anyone desirous of a small, easy to transport set for you and one other. however the coffee pot / teapot states it holds 12 cups. Which it will so long as you use 2 ounce demitasse cups.

 It;s a great small service with good weight and some extra touches. It doesn't take up a lot of room and displays nicely in many place.
