In 1925 Chester Rice and Edward Kellogg completed research on the basic principals of the direct-radiator loudspeaker. Although there were many incremental improvements over the next 82 years, perhaps the biggest deficiency of all has never been corrected.
No matter how perfectly designed a conventional speaker system is, it is powerless to overcome the sonic colorations imposed on it by the listening environment IT IS PLACED IN.
There are three variable circumstances every loudspeaker will encounter:
1. room VARIATIONS: This includes the geometry of the room, the rooms construction, materials used and furnishings placed in the room.
2. Speaker placement: A multi-channel system means each speaker will perform differently due to their relative positions.
3. Listener placement: Whatever sonic experience you may have you can be certain that no one else in the room will have the exact same experience. Unless you are very close friends.
All loudspeaker designers are acutely aware of these issues. Much research has been devoted to measuring, quantifying and understanding these effects. The resultant knowledge has led to many innovative attempts to mitigate these problems.
All OF THESE PROBLEMS RELATE TO UNCONTROLLED "NUISANCE" Variables. In an engineers world, UNCONTROLLED variables are the enemy.
All commercially available loudspeakers were designed to perform as well as possible in a wide variety of rooms and configurations.
The loudspeaker and the audio reproduction experience are never optimum AND THESE PROBLEMS CANNOT CORRECTED WITH EQUALIZATION!

Q: What is the AUDIO IDEOLOGY Audio / VIDEO Reproduction System?
A: We are creating a sound source that is horizontally narrow and vertically quasi-infinite. The speakers height is equal to the room it is installed in. Extending the speaker to the vertical extents of the room creates a virtually infinite length speaker. The behavior of a truncated line source BOUNDED BY UPPER AND LOWER REFLECTING PLANES is identical to that of a true infinite line source.

Q: Where are the speakers placed?

A: AUDIO IDEOLOGY speakers are an integral part of the walls. Not merely speakers in the wall, the wall and the speaker are one and the same. The AUDIO IDEOLOGY is not a retro-fit system. The system is the room and the room is the system.

Audio Ideology is architecturally neutral. Since the speakers are part of the walls there is no intrusion into the living space.
Q: Why are the speakers in the walls?
Remember, the goal is to eliminate UNCONTROLLED variables and optimize all aspects of the design. By placing the speakers in the wall, three primary reflection surfaces (floor, ceiling and the wall into which the speaker is installed) are NO LONGER UNCONTROLLED VARIABLES, BUT AND INTEGRAL PART OF THE DESIGN. This improves imaging and intelligibility.
Q: What about subwoofers?
In all but the largest installations four subwoofers will be used. Very large venues will have more, as needed to maintain our performance objective. Like the main speakers these are also in the walls, near the corners. Each subwoofer enclosure uses eight 12 drivers. This configuration equals the air volume capability of three 18 drivers but with over 4,000W of power handling capability. The complete system has the equivalent of twelve 18 drivers!

Ø After CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND FINAL INSPECTION, ALL OF the audio / VIDEO systems ARE finely calibrated to achieve perfect ACCURACY over the entire listening AND VIEWING area.
Ø The "LINE ARRAY" SPEAKERS ARE installed as an integral part of the theater walls. There is no intrusion into the PHYSICAL ROOM area.
Ø Completely flush with the wall, this is an extremely neutral interior design element, easily concealed into the basic architecture of the room.
Ø Each OF THE SEVEN MAIN channels will be capable of operating at over 2kW of continuous power, 21KW TOTAL. EACH OF THE FOUR SUBWOOFER CHANNELS will be capable of operating at over 4kW of continuous power, 16KW TOTAL
Ø Additionally, the voltage sensitivity will be over 110dB @ 2.83VRMS @ 1M. With this high sensitivity and 2kW power capability, the system enjoys unlimited headroom capability.
Ø The entire listening area is in the speaker systems near-field. Unlike conventional speakers, the level drops only 3dB per doubling of distance (about 2dB in actual tests) rather than 6dB. This results in additional system sensitivity and greatly increases the optimum listening area.
Ø The narrow transducer array results in nearly perfect flat power response.
Ø Multiple drivers reduce distortion. In this application, the inherent harmonic distortion of the individual low frequency drivers is reduced over 15dB. The tweeters distortion reduction is more than 21dB.
Ø All equalization, time correction and crossover functions are handled by 24 bit DSP processors, one per channel.
