When I was just a little one;
My feet helped me to walk.
And then not too long after that,
My mouth taught me to talk.
My feet would take me everywhere;
From room to room and more.
I loved the feel of muddy toes;
As I ran across your floor.
Even though my dirty footprints
always left a mess behind;
I could smile and you'd smile back at me,
And you never seemed to mind.
As I grow tall my footprints fade;
No more messes you'll have to see.
But one thing that will never disappear
Is the love you have given me.
