DESCRIPTION: this is a genuine, original, hand-signed signature on a 3x5 card. It was signed by the late Charles W. Lindberg, who participated in the 1st flag-raising on Iwo Jima. He originally served in the 2nd Raider Battalion, later in Company E/2nd Battalion/28th Marines/5th Marine Division. Corporal Lindberg was a flamethrower-man and earned the SILVER STAR (nation's 3rd-highest combat medal) and PURPLE HEART on Iwo Jima. He was depicted in the Clint Eastwood film "Flags of Our Fathers" by actor Alessandro Mastrobuono. The insignia on this card is for the 5th Marine Division.  He signed it in black ink: "Charles W. Lindberg."
