This is an original, signed, oil painting that was purchased at an estate sale. The canvas is 12" x 16", and the overall dimensions are approx. 17 1/2" x 21 1/2". It was purchased already framed. The frame has some paint chipping on the edges of 3 sides (not the bottom, and none of the chips can be seen when looking at it straight on). Otherwise, the frame is in good condition. Several chips can be seen in the photos. I don't think it would take much to repair. The painting is in excellent original condition. I don't know the artist and the origin of the painting. An appraiser that we contacted (and who saw photos of the painting) suggested that in his professional opinion, stylistically it is a rather modern painting, from the second half of the 20th century. He said it reminded him of the somewhat more complicated technique of an English painter in the 1980's - T. Newman Burke. He suggested an auction value in the range of $300.00 - $400.00.
