Ebay's new "search experience" called Best Match now decides for buyers what you will and won't see when you're perusing Native American jewelry. Ebay has decided that you would rather see cheap, mass produced jewelry (much of it foreign made and misrepresented as Native American) rather than high quality and/or unique items and intentionally disadvantages the very best items (if you use the Best Match search) by generally hiding the best items in the bottom half of the search pages so that you'll probably never see them. If you want to see the best quality Native American jewelry or any other category of item the way you used to, then you must customize you search setting to "Ending Soonest" which used to be the default search setting before ebay introduced "Best Match." "Best Match" definitely isn't best if you're a collector or a discerning buyer who prefers quality over junk. This amazing bracelet -- and it really is amazing - is a magnificent traditional Navajo story bracelet done in gemstone and sterling channel inlay rather than overlay. So this alone makes it rare. But look at the simply superb craftsmanship and the perfect use of not only the inlaid story scene design elements but ther selection of yellow jasper for the desert floor and expensive Afghan cobalt blue lapis lazuli for the sky. I don't know whether you can see the tiny flecks of pyrite (fool's gold), but they're there. Please observe the incredible, hand etched details in each inlaid sterling silver story design -- the individually drawn tree leaves, the wagon wheel spokes, the traditional design in the rug, the etched hogan, and the etched foliage over the lean to. And this is only one side of the bracelet!

The reverse side features a multi gemstone inlay scene featuring the Navajo Rainbow Yei who is called Nah-ah-tseh-ehlit in the Navajo language. Yeis are Navajo religious holy figures who perform tasks or functions during religious ceremonies. This Yei guards the sandpaintings. You'll find various shades blue shades of China Mountain black spiderweb and veined matrix turquoise, Wild or Crazy Horse (magnesite), lapis lazuli, white mother of pearl, blue green Turquoise Mountain turquoise, robin's egg blue Tibetan turquoise, burnt orange spiny oyster, and pastel apple green gaspeite.

This bracelet is just a hair less than 1" wide and gently tapers to a width of 5/8ths" at both terminals. It has an interior measurement of 5 and 5/8ths" with an absolutely non adjustable opening gap of 1 and 1/18th." If your wrist is no more than 6 and 5/8ths" or slightly in circumference, this bracelet should fit.

The creation of this one of a kind bracelet was a collaborative effort between Navajo artists Melvin Francis and his his friend Tommy Denetclaw qho often work to produce some of the most stunning and creative inlay work being done today. Melvin's hallmark and sterling stamp are on the back of the bracelet along the stering border near ine terminal. He does the silver and finish work while Tommy Denetclaw does the inlay. I don't why Tommy doesn't sign these collaborative pieces, but he doesn't.
