The story revolves around the good Baron Peter Cushing who just happens to be in
possession of the body of a beautiful young girl ~ Cushing is aided by his protégé
Thorley Waters
(Dracula: Prince of Darkness '66 & Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed '69)
Now all he need's is the spark of life which is supplied by the captured soul of a newly executed
young man ~ His creation however is soon haunted by feelings of revenge
brought on by the young mans wrongful accusal ~ the killing begins
This time out direction deals with both love & revenge, trauma upon the psyche,
& the existence of the soul, all gathered together in his beautiful creation
giving the audience ability to feel sorrow for the creature for a change
Terence Fisher, as always gives us a gorgeous eye full of fantastic
colorful sets & Hammerisc atmosphere while the great James Benard
once again provides a memorable & moving musical score
All add up to another Hammer Horror Classic
