Peintre de paysages fluviaux et de marines. Premières leçons à Waasmunster. Elève à l'Académie de Saint-Nicolas. Rentre à Waasmunster (1894). S'installe ensuite à Anvers et à Bruxelles (1915). Membre du Cercle artistique de Laeken. A partir de 1903, il participe régulièrement aux Salons des Artistes français à Paris. Dans la lignée de l'Ecole de Termonde, il crée une peinture dominée par les gris et faite de pâte épaisse. Professeur aux Académies d'Anvers et de Bruxelles.Source:Arto.

Schilder van riviergezichten en marines. Eerste lessen in Waasmunster. Opleiding aan de Academie van Sint-Niklaas. Keert in 1894 naar Waasmunster terug; vestigt zich later in Antwerpen en in Brussel (1915). Lid van de Kunstkring van Laken. Neemt vanaf 1903 regelmatig deel aan de Salons des Artistes Français in Parijs. Schildert, in de sfeer van de School van Dendermonde, overwegend grijs en zwaar in de verf. Leraar aan de Academies van Antwerpen en Brussel.Bron: Arto.
