FULL GOLD GILT!!! This is a 2 volume set of books, finely bound in ornate coverings with gold gilt on all 3 page ends, the endpapers are in rarely seen in FULL gold gilt as well!!.  Lots of illustrations in full page color plates, B&W plates, in-line drawings, etc. 913 pp. Volume 1 has a full page canvas oil painting of Albert Mackey, followed by a full page color frontispiece of the three graces. Volume 2 has a full page glossy photo of William Hughan, followed by a full page color frontispiece of the four cardinal virtues.

This set is absolutely wonderful ! Each volume is richly tooled and embossed, with elaborately blind stamped  medallions on the front boards. Gilt designwork and printing on the spines with mason symbols and the all seeing eye. The front boards are bordered by a richly done  stamped embossing of masonic symbols.

The page ends are in full gilt on all three sides, the bindings are good, the pages are crisp and bright with no writing. The full color plates are bright and intact, Extremely Minor shelfwear to the top and bottom of spines, virtually no rubbing on corners. THERE IS NO WRITING or marking of any kind in this set!!!!  There is faint water stains on the botton edge of some of the pages in the center of Volume I, otherwise I would list this set as fine.

The corners are straight and true, no "leaning" to spines,  no foxing on pages, simply a SUPERB set.

Each Book is a whopping 10-1/4" tall by 7-1/4" wide by 2-1/8"" thick !! They are very heavy and the boards are thick and heavy, made to last for generations to come. There is a total of 913 pages !!

Here is your chance to own a piece of MASONIC history, one of the most complete, Authorative, all encompassing history of the Freemasons ever written !! These books would be a great addition to any library and an outstanding one at that.

This Set is in very good condition, with minimal wear.  All pages and plates are present, no cracking- nothing is loose or coming loose, no foxing or soiling-the text is clean and white. No tears or rips!!

The hinges were reinforced with heavy cloth by the publishers (see photos) to ensure this set would last for generations, and after 81 years they are still excellent!!!
