DESCRIPTION

This is a very special US CITY PIN SERIES BOURBON STREET, NEW ORLEANS, LA. The size of the pin is approximately 1" X 1". A very special pin for you City Collection Lovers.

ABOUT THE BOURON STREET:
Ignore your better judgment and take a stroll down Bourbon Street, past the bars, restaurants, music clubs, and novelty shops that have given this strip its reputation as the playground of the South. The noise, raucous crowds, and bawdy sights are not family fare; if you go with children, do so before sundown. Although the street is usually well patrolled, it is wise to stay alert to your surroundings. The street is blocked to make a pedestrian mall at night; often the area is shoulder-to-shoulder, especially during major sports events and Mardi Gras.
At Toulouse Street is the former site of the French Opera House, once one of New Orleans's most opulent public buildings, which burned down in 1919. There is probably a Lucky Dog vendor nearby, with a vending cart shaped like a hot dog. These carts were immortalized by John Kennedy Toole in his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about New Orleans, A Confederacy of Dunces. St. Ann Street marks the beginning of a strip of gay bars.
