This listing is for a gorgeous cased glass sugar casket or jewelry box measuring 4 1/2" high and 4 1/2" in diameter.  The glass is stunning with clear glass cased over white glass with copper mica flecks encased in between.  Both the top and bottom section are banded with a highly polished or gilded brass band with an elaborate pierced design in brass applied on top.  The hinge is correct and is in excellent condition. 

At the center front of the brass bands is a diamond shaped decorative closure that upon close inspection (clearly seen in our close-up photos) shows what appears to be an old repair.  This repair is hardly noticeable unless the box is closely inspected and then does not detract at all from this boxes beautiful appearance.  Other than this early repair, this box is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other repairs.  This is a high quality, heavy glass box weighing 2.8 pounds made in the early part of the 20th Century in either France or possibly Murano, Italy.
