FRENCH C1820 OLD PARIS PORCELAIN CLOCK UNDER DOME

Out of a Connecticut estate comes this exceptional circa 1820 French Old Paris porcelain clock.  The clock comes with it's original rose wood base and glass dome.  The clock itself measures 12 inches or 30 cm high.  Under the dome the whole measures 17 3/4 inches or 45 cm high. 

The clock shows a handsome gentleman in 18th century court dress leaning against the clock face.  The clock itself in a hilly outcropping. All of this sits on a fancy gilded, green enamel, and applied gold Rococo base.   The face of the clock is silver.

This Old Paris clock contains an eight day, silk suspension, time and strike movement.  This means the clock strikes and counts the hours and rings the half hours on a bell at the back of the movement.  The will run for eight days on a complete winding.  The movement is stamped on the back with two initials the first maybe an H, the second is an A, along with some numbers.  Please see photos. 

The clock is exceptional in that it's original rose wood base and glass dome are still present.  The rose wood base has it's four original ebony feet.  The top of this base has been cut to receive the glass dome.  This dome still has the original paper around the base protecting the owner form the sharp edges of the glass.  It also has it's original golden cord that wraps around the base of the glass dome.  

The condition is as follows: The clock is in excellent working condition. It still maintains it's original silk suspension and pendulum.  It's a strong runner, keeps good time and strikes the hours and half hours correctly.  The porcelain on the clock is also excellent with no chips and no missing pieces.  There has been no restoration.  There is some gold wear to the base confined to the gold border at the top of the clock's base.  The rest of the paint is excellent.  The dome, both glass and wood are excellent.  

This truly is an exceptional package.  There is no reserve.
