This listing is for a FABULOUS French Cameo Art Glass muffinier or sugar shaker with elaborate engraved Sterling Silver fittings measuring 7 1/8" high with a 2 1/8" base diameter.  Every detail on this gorgeous shaker is exquisite from the floral and foliage cameo cutting standing in relief against the textured background to the elaborate details on the silver fittings.  

Although unmarked, this shaker is definitely a quality piece.  This type glass was made by Baccarat, St. Louis and Mont Joye in France in the late 1800s to the early 1900s.  You just won't find another cameo glass sugar shaker better than this one!

The decorative silver top and base both have a single punch mark with a Roman head or soverign impression which I am sure must be French.  The mark is deep in the silver, however, it is very clear under magnification although I am not familiar with this type mark.  The pierced silver top fits tightly onto the body of the shaker and the piece is totally original without any alterations.

This beautiful sugar shaker is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs.  Even the silver covered upper rim or band has not been altered and there is no cracks or breakage inside this band.  The cameo glass body is cranberry glass cut to clear and the floral design has some gilded highlights.  There are a few very faint "dings" in the silver neck ring although the foot rim and puffy shaped top are clean without any dents or other damage.
