RARE FRENCH CLOCK DIAL

MADE IN 1776 BY BARBEZAT OF PARIS

The name of the enamel painter is inscribed on the dial, noted as a fine enameller, is Elie Barbezat.  Barbezat, who specialised in enamelling clock dials, supplied a number of the leading Parisian clockmakers including Jean-André Lepaute, Antoine Crosnier and probably Julien Le Roy.
