An outstanding NEO-CLASSICAL HAND PAINTED GILT BRONZE MOUNTED PORCELAIN SEVRES TYPE VASE with CHERUB or PUTTO RECUMBENT in THE FOREST. PAINTED VERSO with ARCHITECTURAL COLUMN RUINS.
Each vignette framed in rococo floral scrolls upon a green ground. Colorful floral sprays, gilt metal cherub figural base and openwork scrolled rim.
Artist signed; VERSIGNY
Signed underneath as pictured: ( L interlaced with a T ). I am not sure who this is. Not American, likely French. Please drop me a quick note if you know.
Measures 7.5" tall.
Excellent condition overall. No chips. No cracks. No excessive wear. Some of the gold is faded as expected. I believe there was a lid of some sort but It doesn't matter. It displays beautifully. We estimate it was made in the late 1800's.
Lastly, the quality of the work is very nice. Well executed. Good perspective and subject matter. Very romantic. Again, as mentioned, all hand painted!
