This is a great reprint of a classic book published in the 1840's by a German deer hunter named Friedrich Gerstacker who traveled to America in 1837 to have what would become the hunting trip of a lifetime.  He traveled the backwoods, prairies, and swamps of America from 1837 to 1843 hunting deer, bear, elk, wolf, duck, panther (mountain lion), and even alligators by torchlight.  The book is softcover and titled "Wild Sports - Rambling and Hunting Trips Through the United States of North America" by Friedrich Gerstacker.  The book has 407 pages of great reading - the book includes great hunting stories, survival stories - bear, alligator & panther attacks- encounters on the frontier with Indians, the wilderness of the 1830's, the Americans of the Frontier, and much more.  The book includes the original pen & ink illustrations of the original edition as well.  A very remarkable hunting journey through the wilds of American by a German deer hunter in the 1830's.  Shipping via U.S. Postal Media Mail is $3.95.
