This little painting has been hanging around my place for about 10 years now. I originally acquired it at a storage auction in NYC but its history goes back to Fryeburg Maine sometime back in nthe mid to late 18th century, or perhaps even earlier. I believe it to be a painting of the coat of arms for the Bowker family. There was a piece of paper with it that can be seen in the 3rd photo which came from the library of Robert D. Eastman III. He wrote in pencil that he had acquired the piece in 1980 and additionally writes Helen Bowker died September 2, 1881. The frame is somewhat tattered although very ornate but could probably be restored. The painting is on canvas and is in excellent condition. Please view the photos carefully. What you are looking at is exactly the item you will receive. Please email any questions. Thanks
