More than 3 million individuals are named, complete with event dates and family links where known. All of the pedigrees can be exported as GEDCOM files, and some contain additional source notes and biographical information. If you find information about your ancestors in this Volume, you may be able to expand your research into other sources. For example, the residence and dates of family events can assist you in indentifying documents such as church records, vital records, or census records. You can then contact local churches, archives, libraries, and county recorders to locate these original records and perhaps obtain additional information. In addition, unless he or she does not want to be contacted, you can request the address of a World Family Tree contributor and possibly collaborate on further research together. This free service, combined with the pedigree data, means the World Family Tree could actually help you find your living relatives as well as your ancestors.
