Here is a list of the BODY CLEANSING,
CLINICALLY-PROVEN ingredients in BioLexin:
GLUCOMANNAN:
Glucomannan is the Western name for vegetable fibers derived from an
Asiatic plant family known as konjac. Like many soluble fibers,
Glucomannan can bind with a variety of substances in the digestive
tract to slow digestion, relieve constipation and reduce the
absorption of fat and carbohydrates. As such, Glucomannan is often
used in products intended to reduce blood cholesterol and
triglyceride levels as well as blood sugar. Because it can absorb up
to 200 times its weight in water and promote a feeling of fullness,
Glucomannan is frequently used in supplements intended to promote
weight loss.
CAPE ALOE:
Cape aloe has been used in medicine for stimulating bile flow in order to cure
abdominal afflictions. It is used to treat congestion, especially in the
pelvic organs, abdomen, and head; for example minor prolapse of the uterus,
prostate problems, constipation, and headaches. It is also useful for diarrhea
with painful urination brought on by food intolerance. This is a common remedy
for people who have a very sedentary lifestyle, especially the elderly and
those who suffer fatigue. Aloe is also useful for those who have drunk too
much alcohol, especially beer.
CASCARA
SAGRADA:
Spanish priests in California, who noted that American Indians used the bark
medicinally, gave this tree the name cascara sagrada, meaning "sacred bark."
The Indians stripped the bark from the tree in early spring or autumn, dried
it, and then aged it for at least a year. Cascara sagrada acts by irritating
the intestines to produce wavelike contractions of the muscles of the
intestinal wall. Properly diluted, cascara sagrada is especially useful as a
mild laxative for elderly people or those in delicate health.
LICORICE
ROOT:
Licorice is mainly used for medicinal purposes. Ancient records from Greece
and other places show it was used in treatment of asthma, chest problems, and
canker sores. The herb’s healing and demulcent properties come in use to treat
a number of ailments especially of the digestive system. Inflammation,
gastritis, peptic ulceration, excessive acid problems and canker sores are all
treated with the herb. Licorice is also found to be useful to ease certain
chest complaints, arthritis, and inflammation of joints, skin and eyes.
GINGER
ROOT:
Ginger root is an excellent remedy for many digestive complaints, such as
indigestion, nausea, gas, and colic. Ginger root relieves motion sickness and
morning sickness. Ginger root's antiseptic qualities also make it highly
beneficial for gastro-intestinal infections, including some types of food
poisoning. Ginger root stimulates the circulation, and helps blood to flow to
the surface, making it an important remedy for poor circulation to the hands
and feet. By improving the circulation, ginger helps high blood pressure as
well.
BUTTERNUT
BARK:
Butternut Bark is good not only as a laxative, but also as a support treatment
for various liver disorders and intestinal sickness, as practiced extensively
in homeopathy. Butternut Bark, also called White Walnut, is used to expel,
rather than kill, worms (vermifuge) during the normal course of
laxative-induced cleansing of the body. When combined with anthelmintics,
Butternut provides the means to eliminate a parasitic mass from the body.
DANDELION
LEAVES:
Dandelion is one of the most effective detoxifying herbs. Working principally
on the liver and gallbladder to help remove waste products. Dandelion also
stimulates the kidneys to remove toxins in the urine. A remarkably well -
balanced remedy, the root encourages steady elimination of toxins due to
infection or pollution. Dandelion has major therapeutic benefits for many
conditions, including constipation, skin problems such as acne, eczema, and
psoriasis, and arthritic conditions, including osteoarthritis, and gout.
MILK
THISTLE SEED:
German research from the 1970s onward has focused on silymarin, a substance
contained in the seeds of milk thistle. This exerts a highly protective effect
on the liver, maintaining its function and preventing damage from compounds
that are normally highly toxic. It has been shown that severe liver breakdown,
resulting from ingesting carbon tetrachloride or death cap mushrooms, may be
prevented if silymarin is taken immediately before, or within 48 hours. In
Germany, silymarin has been used successfully to treat hepatitis and liver
cirrhosis.
GOLDENSEAL
ROOT:
Goldenseal is a famous North American Indian remedy, first used for treating
arrow wounds and ulcers. Goldenseal acts as a tonic to the mucous membranes
throughout the body, resolving inflammation and clearing phlegm. Research has
shown its ability to lower blood pressure and that it possesses powerful
antibacterial and antiviral properties, making it applicable to a wide range
of infections.
