This is a gemstone cut from a section of a Quartz crystal that had another Quartz crystal as an inclusion. Although Amethyst mixed with Citrine is called Ametrine, this is not quite the same as the material that occurs naturally in Bolivia; in that quartz, the purple and yellow occur together with a bit more blending of the colors, usually without such sharp boundaries. In this stone, the yellow part forms a distinct 'point' within the purple. Also, in proper lighting, there are multiple phantom images around the yellow triangle, representing earlier growth stages of that included crystal. Most of this stone is very clean, with the exception of one corner (lower right in Gallery picture) which has the 'feathery' healed fractures often found in quartz. The stone is well cut with a good polish. However, please note that the cutting was done specifically to display the yellow point; the stone is not cut to the angles necessary to optimize the optical properties of the material. This is a gorgeous and quite unusual stone, great for a collection or for jewelry. (GFC-0301-0002)

If you have a problem with your purchase, please contact us immediately to see if we can resolve it. If not, you may request a return authorization code, which must be displayed prominently on the label of the return package, which must be shipped within 7 days. Insurance is required on all returns.
