Fender Japan MIJ A serial TL52-SPL
This is A serial TL52-SPL Telecaster model. It was made by Fujigen.
Fender Japan offered many special model. This model is one of them, has the Humbucker PU on neck side
and 52 type neck (not V-shape, quite normal C grip) with Rotomatic type tuner instead of vintage type.
This is original condition. The Neck PU cavity is originally made by Fender Japan.
PU also should be Fender Japan original.
After I got this guitar, I have added the followings
1) Potentiometer changed to Japanese made new one
2) 2 Orange Drop Capacitors on Tone and hi-cut.
3) Bridge assembly has been changed to Brand New Joe Barden type.
4) Output Jack and Jack plate (Switchcraft and Fender USA)
5) Oak 3 way selector switch with Belden wire
6) New Metal knobs
Both PUs are original Fender Japan. I didn't change it.
The body should be alder 2P type. There are many dents and scratches, but the natural
finish body didn't show you so much. The neck pocket end wood was cracked and missing.
This is small piece of wood, it would not effective for sounding (also it is under pick guard).
The neck is straight, but the all paint of finger board were peel off. The frets are worn, but still O.K. for playing.
The tone is not really typical Tele because of neck PU. I would said the balance between Neck and Bridge is
not really good. The neck PU out-put is bigger. Well, It depends how you would like to use guitar.
A serial, it should be 1985 made. Already 24 years old guitar. It is 3.64 Kg Alder 2P Body.
Pretty old looking !
Originally, this guitar has brass made 6 ways type bridge. However, it was rusted very much.
I hate it and changed it to new Joe Barden TL bridge.
