Figural NUT CRACKER Black Forest German Wood Carving

A truly beautiful- highly detailed figural nutcracker, almost certainly German, Black Forest region carving. A nice self standing piece- of a elfin like character as shown. The detail and refinement in the carving are wonderful- and the piece bears all the hallmarks of an established talented artisan craftsman. The beautiful dark hardwood used will perform under pressure- these highly decorative items also being highly effective working nut crackers. Nut is placed at back, not in the mouth of the figure! Condition is excellent- a few rubs along the base at front, no real damage- no splits or cracks.
