Wonderful late 19th century Rococo style large Delft earthenware box; the lid with relief scrollwork border enclosing a blue underglaze hand painted 18th century style landscape depicting a young couple beside a river against a cream ground, outer walls and interior with blue underglaze floral motifs on scroll feet. Silvered metal acanthus latch, hinge and bezel. Unidentified blue underglaze painted monogram “A.” on underside of base.
