Fine Antique Violin French German ? Two Bows NO RESERVE


























Description

 

This violin and bows appear to be from either the late 19th or early 20th century.  I have not been able to find any marks or label.  The hardware on the case is patented 1915....I assume the violin is of the same or earlier vintage.  It also appears to be similar to French and German violins of the era.  It measures approximately 22 1/4" in length and the greatest width is approximately 71/2".  It appears to be in good playable or at least restorable condition.  I have not found any cracks or major damage.  There is some minor edge wear and finish loss....nothing too major.

The violin includes two bows, rosin bag, tuner and bridge and case which is in poor condition.  The one bow is a Vuillaume Paris.  It measures 247/8" and appears to be in very good condition.  The other bow is a Bausch.  It measures 271/4" and is in good condition though it is missing the two mother of pearl "eyes".
