The turkeytail harrison type is associated with the late archaic/early woodland cultures of the Ohio Valley--Adena/red ochre/glacial kame. Turkeytails like this are frequently found in caches and the fine craftsmanship and delicate nature of such blades suggest that they were intended for ceremonial purposes.  In fact most large turkeytails like this are found in caches in a "killed" state, broken before ancient internment. Like all authentic turkeytails, this point is incredibly thin, but unlike many, it is extremely symmetrical on both faces (many large turkeytails are almost unifacial).   A really big turkeytail that saw an awful lot of ancient use, this point is unusual in that it probably recieved several ancient resharpenings.  Classic material, and has great pressure edgework and a bulbous base that I associate with early turkeytails from southern KY and Tennesee.  =
