Item specifics
Material: Sterling SilverType: Pin Brooch
Time Period: VintageMetal Purity: Sterling Silver

This darling sterling silver pin looks just like a perfect dogwood flower.  It has been lovingly made with great detail from one piece of silver (except the pin was put on after).  The spinning c-clasp works fine.  The pin has tarnish but I've not polished it as some people prefer to see that original vintage look.  It is stamped sterling on the back, and above that there is what looks like part of a maker's mark, a N in a circle next to something else which did not get stamped strongly enough to read.  The pin is about 1 and a third inches across.

This is not a garage sale purchase.  This is a pin which belonged to a now deceased relative, and we thought initially that it was probably purchased on a 1950s or 1960s trip to Europe (we know she bought some Danish silver pins on that trip). HOWEVER from looking at web sites on silver marks it seems that something just marked "sterling" is likely to be of American origin.  In that case it might be from her mother, and date from the earlier 1900s.  We just aren't sure.

In honor of the relative to whom this belonged, part of the profit from this sale will go to a charity of which she would have approved, and the rest to the college funds that support her nephews, of whom she was very fond.

Shipping/handling: to destinations in the U.S. the cost of shipping/handling is FREE (and comes with delivery confirmation).  Add $1 for Canada and $2 for other international destinations.
