Build this Fireplace Mantle and Surround to add sizzle to your home’s interior. Here’s one home-improvement project that’s as attractive and fun to make as any piece of fine furniture. You will be surprised by how easy it is to construct, and by how you can tailor its look and size to suit your home’s interior.

Features: Adjustable to any size fireplace opening. Make mostly from 3/4in. thick boards, your choice of woods (pine, cherry, oak, walnut, exotic, etc.). Can be made as either a natural wood or painted version. Custom made (not store bought) fluted front pilasters and decorative moldings.

Size: Mantle is aprox. 1 1/2in. thk. by 11in. deep. Fireplace surround is adjustable to fit.

Plans Include: Detailed step-by-step instructions, color photos, exploded 3D diagrams, very detailed drawings , complete bill of materials list and cutting diagrams. Includes detailed instructions for making the custom cove moldings using table saw.

Skill Level: Moderate to advanced woodworking skills required. NOTE: Requires making the various custom moldings with a table saw and router table.
