Juvenile Sandhill Cranes, big as they are, can't fly until a certain age, and so the parents stay earthbound until the young learn to fly.

The Stump Pass Beach State Recreation Area is located at the southernmost end of Manasota Key near Englewood. It has no lifeguards, but it‘s not crowded and you can walk the beach from the Gulf of Mexico to the Bay and witness spectacular sunsets.
Port Charlotte Beach Park on Charlotte Harbor is located on Harbor Boulevard in Port Charlotte. There are great amenities here, including a swimming pool, boat ramps, fishing pier and extensive recreation and sports facilities.

In 2002, the Charlotte County Parks & Recreation division completed a $2.7 million renovation to
