| | Album notes | Foreigner: Lou Gramm (vocals, percussion); Mick Jones (guitar, piano); Ian McDonald (guitar, keyboards); Al Greenwood (keyboards, synthesizers); Rick Willis, Ed Gagliarti (bass); Dennis Elliott (drums). Additional personnel includes: Jr. Walker, Mark Rivera (saxophone); Michael Fonfara, Bob Mayo (keyboards) Thomas Dolby, Larry Fast (synthesizers); Ian Lloyd (background vocals). Producers include: Mick Jones, Ian McDonald, John Sinclair, Gary Lyons, Keith Olsen. Engineers: Jimmy Douglass, Geoff Workman, Dave Wittman. Digitally remastered by Ted Jensen. While Foreigner's first 'best of' compilation, 1982's RECORDS, does not contain all of the band's hits (it was released prior to their chart-topping ballad "I Want to Know What Love Is"), it still does contain many classic rock gems. While hardcore fans may balk at a live version of "Hot Blooded" being included over the better-known studio version, and that the shorter 'single versions' of the songs are used, RECORDS still showcases Foreigner at their best. Most Foreigner favorites are included, such as "Cold as Ice," "Head Games," "Waiting for a Girl Like You," "Feels Like the First Time," "Urgent," and "Long, Long Way from Home" to name but a few.
