You are bidding on a used.....
FOSDICK RADIAL ARM DRILL PRESS, 4' ARM, #6MT
Serial Number: 12020W Year model: 1941
NOTE: We saw this machine drilling 2" holes in hot rolled plate about 2 years ago. It was running at that time. We have NOT run this machine in our warehouse. This machine is sold "as-is" with all faults and NO WARRANTY and NO RETURN. If you have any doubts, DON'T BID. Also, we encourage folks to COME TO OUR WAREHOUSE and VIEW THIS MACHINE UNDER POWER.
Information and Specifications:
- This is a HEAVY DUTY Radial Arm Drill, machine weighs about 15,000 lbs. This weight is an educated guess. We don't want to overload a truck, and we want to make sure a truck picking up this machine has at least 15K to 20K lbs. carring capacity.
- The main motor is 10 HP, see pic of motor tag
- The main motor has been serviced, wound, etc in modern times, see motor tag pic
- The electrical box has been rebuilt in modern times, see pic. The components in the electrical box look to be in the 90s or later.
- The spindle looks like a Number 6 MT. See pic.
- The diameter of the column is somewhat less than 16"....See pic of tape measure on column
- The maximum throat depth is about 48"....See pic of tape measure on Arm.
- This machine is 10' 5" tall. THIS IS TOO TALL TO SHIP ON A REGULAR FLATBED TRUCK OR STEP DECK. IT WILL HAVE TO BE SHIPPED ON A "DOUBLE DROP" DECK FLATBED OR A "LOW BOY" FLATBED.
- This machine is 58" wide, so width is not a problem for trucking. It is 10' 6" long, so about 12' of BED SPACE is need for the trucking.
- There is NO box table, just the bed you see in the PIC.
- WE DO NOT HAVE ANY BOOKS FOR THIS MACHINE.
Pics:
Look at the pics. The pics should answer most of your questions. All the operation levers present suggest this machine has power, rapid and feed, in all directions.
Read my Lips....(Sorry, George, Sr.)
I have NOT run this machine. I saw it run a couple of years ago drilling 2" holes in 1" hot rolled plate. This is no promise of complete functionality of the machine. Please assume you are going to have to do some clean-up, adjustments, and otherwise mechanical work. This is a 1941 machine. I would assume it is "loose" in the sense there is wear and tear on the gears, ways, etc.
I have detailed this listing as honestly as I possibly can. I can not be responsible for any unrealistic expectations. Please, if you are not positive about your possible purchase, DON'T BID. This is an older MACHINE.....THERE IS NO WARRANTY, THERE IS NO RETURN, THERE IS NO MONEY BACK. I have priced this machine very good, I think. If you don't think so, make an offer. Please, know what you are buying.....ask questions....and, finally.......COME TO MY SHOWROOM and see the machine.
Why, you may ask, do we make this a no return sale? Here are the reasons: 1. This is a 15000 lbs. machine. It is costly to ship and to return. 2. It is OLD and we starting the bidding LOW WITH NO RESERVE.
I'm trying to be as complete and honest as possible, because I WILL NOT ACCEPT "INCOMPLETE DESCRIPTION" or "MISREPRESENTATION" as a basis for Ebay or Paypal dispute.
Shipping:
This machine is not on a skid, but it can be handled with a forklift or overhead crane. I'm guessing it weighs between 15,000 lbs. I would rather you arrange to pick it up with your flatbed truck or a double axle trailer. You should bring some tarps, cause you DON'T want it to get wet in the rain. We will load at no extra charge. For you folks who want to send a commercial truck, MAKE SURE you send a DOUBLE DROP OR LOW BOY flat bed because it is 10' 5" tall. Don't send a box trailer, because there is no good way to strap or chain down this machine inside a box trailer. You should send an "air-ride" flat bed truck, WITH TARPS. If you call them for a rate, tell them 20000 lbs., 12' of bed space coming from Memphis, Tennessee to your destination. I will carefully load the machine with our overhead crane at no charge. I WILL QUOTE FREIGHT TO YOUR DESTINATION IF YOU WANT. Send me a question.
Payment:
We take American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. We will take a company check if you can be checked on D & B. We take Paypal. You can send us a wire transfer of funds. If you want to show up with cash, we'll be here. We will NOT take personal checks.
Payment is due 72 hours after close of sale. We reserve the right to relist machines for failure to pay on time.
Machines must be removed from our facility within 14 days of sale. We reserve the right to charge storage fees after 14 days.
