Fox Renard Model 333 Oboe in Near-Mint Condition w/ Extras
Crispin's Creations & Accessories is proud to present this Fox Renard model 333 oboe for auction. It is in spectacular condition, there being only two things keeping us from declaring it's condition to be mint. The reed well is not all shiny inside like a brand new oboe, and the case's zipper tabs have a very small amount of wear to their paint. The pads and corks are in fabulous condition and the silver plating on the keys is perfect. There are no scratches or other damage anywhere on the oboe.
The bore and tone hole configuration (and hence, the playing characteristics) of this oboe are identical to the model 330, an oboe which many merchants bill as being a professional oboe. This model 333 lacks two keys that the model 330 has: the artculated low B-C# and the (practically useless) alternate low C. It has the left hand F, forked F resonance, Ab-Bb trill, Gb-Ab trill, C-D trill and B-C# trill. It has no low Bb resonance key, but the low Bb is nevertheless in tune with the rest of the scale.
The case is in quite excellent condition, and has a very handy zippered pocket on the outside for storage of accessories, a large reed case, water for soaking reeds, etc. Also has a padded shoulder strap.
The oboe plays extemely well, with an unbelievably good scale, nice tone quality, and terrific response in all registers.
