1950's postcard showing a beautiful close up view of one the architectural masterpieces of Frank Lloyd Wright --- the striking Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. Built in 1923, the hotel eventually went into disrepair and was demolished in 1968. This particular image shows the front of the building and the famous pool area. The person mailing the postcard apparently stayed there and wrote an interesting message on the back of the card regarding the building........."This is the oddest hotel you ever saw, but beautiful and comfortable. It is built of brick and volcanic rock and gilded between layers of brick"...... This card also has an added extra bonus going for it that it was actually mailed and postmarked from the Imperial Hotel. Very good condition with minor corner wear. BID WITH CONFIDENCE ! SATISFACTION GUARRANTEED !
