FRANK W. SMITH SILVER CO. CHARMING DESK SET WITH TRAY TWO OPEN CIRCULAR RECEPTACLES FOR PENS AND WAX STICKS LIGHTER WITH WICK for SEALING WAX ************** SET IN THE LATE AESTHETIC - EARLY ART NOUVEAU STYLE WITH FLOWERS AND LEAVES IN REPOUSSE ************************************** Larger Receptacle measures 2 - 3/4" high x 3" diameter Smaller Receptacle measures 1 - 3/4" high x 3" diameter Wicked Lighter measures 3" high x 1 - 1/2" diameter Tray measures 13" long x 6 - 1/2" at the widest point Frank W. Smith Silver Co., Gardner Massachusetts was in business from 1886 - 1958. He was known for his high quality flatware and holloware. Arthur Stone was an early designer. In addition to Frank W. Smith's mark each piece is also stamped Sterling and 1929. The date is a stamped date and believed to be a model number, not the year of production. Year of production would be somewhat earlier - probably late 1800's. It has no dings or dents. The tray has a few surface pinpoint black marks and light scratching that should be polished out. It is a delightful, very feminine set to which the photos cannot do justice. The tray does have a monogram. Please email with any questions. ******************************************** Paypal accepted.
