This is a terrific estate find, circa 1950: two complete decks of playing cards featuring the pin-up artwork of Freeman Elliot, a set called "Winning Aces". One is called "Wishing Bone" and the other is "Aces Pat".
From Brown & Bigelow, this set was wildly popular when it came out and was a favorite for promotional give-aways, as is the case with this set: it was the "Season's Greetings" gift from Acme Welding and Cutting Works in Chicago.
The decks have been played, so there is some edge wear, but I didn't find hard creases or any tears. Each deck also has a nudie joker. The "inspected by" slip is still included, and the Winning Aces poem for each design is printed inside the lid.
Box is still sturdy, is soiled with tattering along edges and corners and a bad top corner area, but how great to find this whole set still together!

Our shipping charge and method is not negotiable; your bid tells us you accept our shipping terms as stated.
Our goal is to ship as quickly as we can. Our goal is to ship within 5 business days of the receipt of cleared payment. It is possible, depending on our schedule, that we will only be able to ship one day in a given week, so if you need to receive your item by a certain date, then please e-mail before bidding to make sure we can meet your needs.
We're as anxious to ship your item as you are to receive it, but scheduling demands with our estate liquidation business sometimes causes shipping delays.
Remember that many items are heavy and/or large. The price of the merchandise does not affect the cost of shipping!
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS:
We welcome international bidding on almost all of our items. We DO NOT mark international items as "gifts", and your purchase will be shipped with full value declaration on the customs form, marked as "merchandise". Please do not ask or expect us to do otherwise. We are not responsible for any customs fees or duties that are added on ... the amount we collect from you for shipping covers packing and mailing only. Transit times, and the time a parcel is held in your country's customs office, is out of our control.
We insure through a 3rd-party and therefore can insure even first class international packages: items over $50 shipping internationally must be insured. The insurance rate is $2.00 per every $100 of value.
Unless noted otherwise, our items are pre-owned and will have visual and physical cues typical of an item that has been handled and used.
Bid with the expectation that this is a final sale.
We do not sell "on approval" and will accept returns only when an item has been unintentionally misrepresented due to omissions or errors in the description. We are not professional appraisers, but work hard to identify all issues that we believe you would look for if you could see the item in person.
If you have doubts or need more information, then e-mail us BEFORE you bid, because your bid is a commitment to purchase.
