This turntable is somewhat unique because it has a built-in phono preamp, which lets you turn the preamp on or off - so you can connect this to not only to your home stereo system, but also to your computer, amplified speakers, boombox, and to other components that have a line input, but no dedicated turntable input. Makes it very versatile!

You can operate it fully automatic by pushing the start/stop functions, and you can also operate it manually - when you move the tonearm towards the LP, it begins, and when you move it away from the lp, it turns off, like a semi-automatic turntable. Very nice.
