Artist: THE WATTS 103rd ST. RHYTHM BAND Titles (composers): A: "Brown Sugar" (Rebennack-Hill) Label: Warner Brothers 7175 - 1968 Producer: Fred Smith Arragner: James Carmichael Grading: M- Label Condition: Perfect. Comes in orig. WB dust-jacket in crisp shape. Unused store stock U.S. shipping: $3.00 (no matter what number of 45’s you buy). Intl. Shipping: $5.44 + another dollar for each additional 45 purchased. Comments: The Watt’s first 45 on Warner Bros. Both instrumentals. A-side, composed by the two New Orleanians Dr. John and Jessie “Oh-Poo-Pah-Doo” Hill, is up-tempo and more Northern than funky, sounding like a backing track for one of Smith/Carmichael’s many Mirwood tracks. B-side is a funky mid-tempo vamp with party noises in the back.
Please also check my other Funk and Funk related 45's listed this week. |
