MOUNTED IN A SLABBED HOLDER
 
From 1849 until 1854 the U.S. Mint struck the first type of $1 Dollar Gold Coins known as the Liberty Head or small-sized type. This coin is the 1853 was  graded as V.F.--A.U. when we purchased the coin, but we are not professional graders so we ask you to grade the coin and decide for yourself on the grade.
 
The coin is a nice gold dollar.  We have tried to take pictures of the actual coin as good as we could and there again we are not professionals. If you need more pictures email us or call toll free and we will try to take some more and send you.
