G.I. JOE is a highly trained, special mission force. Its mission: To defend the world and freedom from COBRA, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.

The Transformers are a race of sentient shape-changing robots from the planet Cybertron. Centuries ago, one group of Transformers crashlanded on Earth, and was later discovered by COBRA and used in a bid for world domination.

After a time-traveling adventure that pitted the heroic Transformers called the Autobots and G.I. JOE against the evil Transformers called the Decepticons, an agreement was made to decommission any Cybertronian technology on Earth in an effort to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands again. The G.I. JOE team was sent to guard a secret military base containing the Cybertron technology. They now await the Autobots arrival.

Unbeknownst to the joes, they are also guarding a most dangerous--and highly secret--experiment...
