GATHERING OF EAGLES PRINT SIGNED BY 20 FAMOUS PILOTS

You are bidding on an outstanding highly collectible print of the 1995 "Gathering Of Eagles". Since 1982 the gathering of eagles is a meeting of many of the pioneers and aces of aviation history.

The print is hand signed in pencil by 20 famous pilots along with the vehicles they flew. This particular print was the 50th anniversary of WWII, so the print includes not only American aces and pilots, but also several famous foreign pilots as well.

This print is from the private collection of Lt. General Susan Pamerleau, who was at the annual meeting and purchased one of the scarcer artists proofs for her office wall. The print is number 99/100 and is accompanied by the special book which gives the biographies of every pilot who signed the print.

Some notable signatures are Ace Francis S. "Gabby" Gabrinsky, who scored 31 aerial victories during WWII alone; more than any other Army Air Force pilot in the European theater, and was known by the German Air Command as one of the feared "Terrible Three"; General Robert L. Scott Jr. of the 23rd Fighter Group who scored 13 confirmed and 5 probable aerial victories, Lee A "Buddy" Archer Jr., one of the famous Tuskegee Airman, who scored 3 air victories in a single air battle over Lake Balaton Hungary, and flew 169 combat missions; Thomas W. Ferebee, who was the bombardier on the "Enola Gay" Hiroshima run, along with navigator Theodore "Dutch" Van Kirk; John F. "Jack" Bolt the USMC sole jet ace who holds the record for becoming an ace in only two years, scoring six aerial victories in WWII, and also six in Korea where he did two tours; General Walter Krupinski of Germany, the famous Luftwaffe pilot who scored 197 aerial victories, with 11 in a single day; Saburo Sakai, Japan's greatest living WWII ace, who scored 64 victories in 200 combat missions; Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager, who scored 13 aerial victories, with 5 downed in one mission alone; Evgeny G. Pepelyaev of the Soviet Union, who scored 19 aerial victories flying the MiG-15bis in Korea, Astronaut Joe H. Engle, astronaut John H. Glenn, the first American to orbit the Earth, astronaut Eugene A. Cernan, who commanded Apollo XVII which set many records including longest stay on the Moon (over 75 hours); Hugh L. Mills Jr., with over 2,000 combat hours, Mills is one of the US Army's most decorted pilots, earning 3 silver stars; the Legion of Merit; 6 Distinguished Flying Crosses; 3 Bronze stars; 3 Purple Hearts; 3 Meritorious Service Medals; two Air Medals for combat hours; 6 Air Medals for personal valor; 6 Army Commendation Medals for valor, and the National Defense Service Medal, Major General Lloyd W. "Fig" Newton, who flew 269 combat missions over north vietnam before joining the world famous Thunderbirds in 1974.

In the center of the print are the respected vehicles each pilot flew. The print is in excellent condition and was professionally framed and matted. The print measures 40.25"x 32.25" including the brushed aluminum frame.

A great addition to any aviation art collection

Many bidders are disappointed at losing in the last seconds. They've been "sniped" by other bidders. You can prevent this by entering your maximum bid (the highest amount your willing to pay) when you place your bid. Then, if someone else places a bid, yours rises just enough to cover theirs (up to your maximum). This gets you the best possible price, and reduces the odds of being sniped. It also prevents you from forgetting to bid at the auctions close. I get emails all the time saying, "I got distracted and did not get to bid"..."Do you have another?" I almost never do!

Payment for all items is due within 5 business days of auctions end. Shipping quote includes total price for packing and shipping materials which I don't charge extra for. Shipping will be by USPS.

Safe shipping is a big concern for many ebaY buyers.
