Here is an excellent General Electric Vintage 1939 radio. The wood case is in excellent condition. The radio works well, stations or static heard on all 3 bands, I didn't use an external antenna, has a built in wire loop antenna. Covers 550-1500 KC, 2.1-6.0 MC, 6.5-22 MC, Has phonograph input switched on via left push buttons (today we call that I Pod ready). There is a little hum in the speaker. 6 tubes, The plastic on the front is Catalin, over the last 70 years that plastic typically distorts, there is some slight distortion but it has held better than many Catalin plastic I have seen. Radio is 18" wide, 10" high and 9.5" deep, weighs 15.6 pounds, figure 21 pounds packed. Note the original back in great condition. I have not worked on this radio, I bought it from a collector about 20 years ago. Note: the band switch knob has a small crack (see photo), it is strong and shows no sign of breaking. This radio has served me well, but I recently moved and down sized, need to reduce some of my collection. The switches could use some contact cleaner, typical of vintage radios, Also schematic diagram is included. Selling AS-IS but working condition. Winning bidder pays $24.50 S&H via FedEx Ground in the US 48 states, other destination will be quoted.

ANOTHER CORRESTION. It was pointed out to me that I have the wrong model number. The GE H638 had a Record Player, the same radio without the Record Player is Model H640, and that's the model number of this radio I have listed. This radio is model H640 not H638 , sorry for the mix-up.
