ole kortzau was born in 1939 in copenhagen. he is a qualified architect and has worked at some of the leading architect firms in copenhagen and london. since 1973 he has had his own studio in copenhagen. his business has mainly emphasized graphic projects. kortzau has been appointed to work on major projects in japan, designed silverware for georg jensen, porcelain for royal copenhagen, glass art for holmegaard, and textiles for kvadrat
ole kortzau's unique watercolor pictures reflect the danish countryside, with its landscapes and flowers. in his designs of furniture textiles, silverware, glass and porcelain one easily acknowledges this love of nature
his graphic works and decorations are seen is various places throughout denmark and he has exhibited his work in washington dc, new york, paris, tokyo and reykjavik. he has taught at the art academy's school of architecture and published several books, one of them about watercolor painting
