GEORG JENSEN sterling ART NOUVEAU large SERVING FORK

Georg Jensen Design #41

A handsome Georg Jensen Art Nouveau serving fork in the ornamental pattern #41, with a scalloped, leaf-like edge around the bowl and an ornamental beaded curving handle. The design is by Georg Jensen himself. The server is in overall good condition; there are some scratches and scuff marks  to the bowl. The handle has very fine detail,  graceful, turning,  and ornamented with small graduated silver beads. This server is large - it measures 8" and has a wide bowl -3" by 2 1/2". It has these  hallmarks: GEORG JENSEN in a dotted oval, STERLING DENMARK #41.

 The ornamental pattern #41 was designed by Georg Jensen himself  at the height of Art Nouveau. This pattern is pictured in Janet Drucker's book,  GEORG JENSEN- A TRADITION OF SPLENDID SILVER on page 283.
