A Beautiful Early George 3^rd Solid Silver Verge Fusee Full-Hunter Pocket Watch London c1810

This early George 3^rd verge Fusee pocket watch is in truly remarkable condition, the solid silver hunter case is in excellent condition, there is no damage, no dents or wear the silver case looks new! The gilt plate movement is in superb condition, no staining or tarnishing to the plates. It is hard to believe this watch is 199 years old.

The Movement:

                          Is in beautiful condition the movement gilt plates look new, the maker’s name “Savory & Co 48 Cheapside London serial number1361” is engraved on the movement top plate; the balance cock is beautifully pierced with an ornate floral design; the cock plate has a large balance staff diamond end stone. The movement plates are supported on nicely turned Egyptian pillars; the verge movement is very clean and running very  mstrong, keeping very good time for its age, just 2 / 3 minutes over 12 hours on a full wind. The movement can be wound in two ways, through the gold collet set in the dial at the 4 o’clock position or by opening the case and winding from inside, both methods are very smooth, a key is included with the watch;

The Case:

               Is a solid silver early full-hunter case with the hall-marks for London c1810 and the case maker DW; there is very little damage if any, it is in beautiful original condition. The case cover release button is present and works well, the front cover opens to 90deg at the press of the stem button. The case covers fit well and close with a crisp snap; there is no wear to the stem or bow; this case is in truly remarkable condition considering its age.

The Dial: 

             Is a pure white porcelain dial in beautiful original condition, there is a chip on the edge of the dial between 12 & 1 o’clock position, the time is depicted by black Roman numerals, the hands are gold and bold cut with the minute hand having a squared cut centre; there is a gold collet set at the mid 4 o’clock position, this for winding without opening the case. The crystal is a true crystal in excellent new condition.
