I am not sure what this type of knife was designed for, but it is neat and seems to be very well made. Both the knife and hard black plastic scabbard are marked "GERBER". One one side of the bladed it is etched "design BLACKIE COLLINS". The knife is all steel and about 7 1/2 inches long with a 3 1/4 inch half serrated blade. The blade is quite thick on the spine and has a steep angle down to the cutting/serrated edge. The handle area has a large spring steel clip that secures the knife into the sheath. The knife can be inserted either left of right for this clip to work. The sheath has a belt or boot clip on it for attaching to either the belt or boot. This is a used knife, but in very good condition. Made in Portland, Oregon USA.
