This is a superb example of a c.WWI German Fireman's helmet. It has a plate featuring a lion, crossed axes and helmet on the front.
The lining and chinstrap are both in very good condition.
There is only minor crazing to the leather shell. Both the state (Prussian) and national cockades are present.
There is what may be a makers stamp inside, but it is too faint to be able to read.
This is the finest example of this type of helmet that I have ever seen.
The auction is starting at a low price to avoid ebay fees.
This helmet is advertised for sale elsewhere, so I reserve to right to cancell the auction at any time.
Good luck and thanks for bidding.
