THE WOODS:
Sitka Spruce (Picea sitchensis)
Sitka Spruce makes a very strong, loud guitar top which has a balanced resonant sound famous for its midrange brightness and good sustain. It also shows a very strong tendency to improve with age, perhaps more than other woods. Because of its strength and toughness it is well suited for steel string acoustic guitars. It has even been used successfully for classical guitars. The color of Sitka Spruce ranges from white to pink to light brown. Some tops display a lot of color variation.
Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia)
The vast majority of the higher quality steel string and classical guitars made over the last thirty years have been made in Indian Rosewood. Indian Rosewood was found to be an excellent alternative and the general substitute to Brazilian Rosewood both visually and tonally. Indian rosewood is coveted by players and guitar builders alike for its dark, luxurious coloration, which ranges from brown to purple to rose to black, and for its superb tonal characteristics. It remains the most popular tonewood used in the making back and sides of high-quality acoustic guitars.
THE PREAMP
The B-Band A3.2 preamp offers a 4-band "graphic" EQ design using rotary linear potentiometers for greater range. The EQ controls are cut / boost bass, middle, treble and presence controls.
