"Going Home" - a 13" x 19" Fantasy PRINT

This bold scene full of colors and stripes shows a dark winged angel in her kachina-esque attire pulling a precious skelly through the marigolds. In Day of the Dead lore, marigolds are used as little beacons to remind the ancestors how to get back home each year during El Dia de Los Muertos. I also have a special place in my heart for marigolds. I used to plant them with my grandmother in her yard. They were little balls of orange and yellow sunlight living right in the earth. Sometimes you don't always feel like going home, but it is definitely where this little macabrelito belongs! Will you show them the way?

You are bidding on a PRINT from an original painting, painted by myself, Misty* (gossamerfaery). The actual dimensions of the print are approximately 12"x16" with a white mounting border (making the overall piece 13"x19") in the case of custom framing. Otherwise, the border along with a minor amount of image may be trimmed to fit any standard 12"x16" frame, photo album, or even pinned to the wall.

Framing/Displaying your prints. As with art in general, you should keep your prints away from direct sunlight or harsh artificial light. Even lightfast inks cannot withstand harsh light for long. If you frame your prints, UV-blocking glass is the best option.

The inks used in these prints show the full color range of the original work. As long as you store your prints out of direct light and enclosed in an airtight sleeve, jacket, or photo frame to minimize exposure to light and humidity, you can greatly enhance the life of your new art.

My name is Misty Benson (a.k.a. gossamerfaery). I live, breathe, and bring my Morbidly Adorable Creations into being from Gossamerfaery’s Attic in curiouser and curiouser Idaho. From the Attic, the creations and I can smell the sugary scent of coffin cake on the winds. The rustle of leaves sound like hollow bones rattling on pavement. Rain is actually skeletons tap dancing on the roof. Here we vehemently hold onto the ghosts in our dreams. Faeries may be spotted in the dying light. We are not afraid to muddy our white dresses in order to witness the mysterious lives of bugs. Halloween is our favorite time of year, so we spend Christmas decorating our tree with skulls. Life leaves us feeling a little haunted but always enchanted. This is a place where beauty borders on strange and the strange is beautiful.

From Gossamerfaery's Attic, I paint and sculpt dreamy big-eyed faeries and delightful Day of the Dead skeletons. My dark and delicious little minions have made their way into homes around the world. They have been featured in paintings, prints, one of a kind sculptures, magnets, stickers, and cards causing sweet mischief wherever they go. Due to the oversize nature of this print, Priority Mail is $5.00. Insurance is recommended but not required. If you would like to add any additional services to your shipping such as delivery confirmation, please let me know. I will be happy to give you a quote! I LOVE to combine shipping! I can ship multiple items together to save you on shipping! Items under 9x12 will be secured between two pieces of matte board and mailed flat to avoid bending. Oversize items will be shipped in a sturdy mailing tube or box. Your item will ship within 24-72 hours. Please let me know if there is a rush. If you choose overnight shipping, the item will ship same day or next morning depending on the time your item was ordered. I visit the post office several times a week!

Shipping will vary for international bidders. If your country is not listed in this auction, or you are unsure of your shipping fees, please contact me. If your post office collects customs fees, I am not responsible for paying that fee. Sorry!
