You are bidding on a rare Rutherford Hayes token / medal.

I could not find any information on the web about this particular medal so I will give you as much information as I have.  Please also refer to the pictures.

This medal is commerrating Rutherford Hayes, I'm not sure what metal this medal is made of but if I had to guess, it would either be gold or brass.

The obverse has the following writing on it "RUTHERFORD HAYES" and the bottom "1877 - 1881 14TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES".  The reverse has the following writing:

"RUTHERFORD B HAYES
BORN OCT. 4, 1822
UNION CIVIL WAR HERO;
LOST IN POPULAR VOTE BUT
WON ELECTORAL VOTE; 1ST
PRESIDENT TO HAVE A TELE-
PHONE IN THE WHITE HOUSE
DIED JAN. 17,
1893".
