For sale in this listing is a custom engraved gold neck plate
  • The Image is permanently engraved in the metal and will not fade.
What is Included:
  • 1 gold custom engraved neck plate as shown in listing
  • 4 gold neck plate screws/bolts
  • 1 black neck plate cushion/gasket

This type of engraving, like etching, is not deep into the metal.

The image is produced by striking the metal at varying depths. The depth of each strike is dependent on the brightness of each pixel in the image used to engrave. As you may or may not know a digital image is made up of many small dots (pixels). This engraving process uses the brightness of each one of these dots (pixels) to decide how hard to strike the metal. The brighter the dot (pixel) the harder the metal is struck. Black pixels are not struck. The contrast between the varying depths of these strikes creates the image.

When viewing these plates the image varies depending on the viewing angle and the level of available light. A good way to describe this effect is to compare it with a lcd tv/monitor (the flat type tv or computer monitor). If you have seen a lcd display you have probably noticed the display is not as "readable" and can produce a negative image from some viewing angles.

A traditional steel neck plate for Fender-style guitar or bass with screws and black cushion/gasket

  • Standard 4 bolt neck plate that fit most bolt on neck guitars with a rectangular 4 bolt plate
  • Plate is manufactured in Japan and engraved in the USA
  • Mounting holes are spaced 1-1/2" x 2" (38.10mm x 50.80mm) center-to-center.
  • The plate is 2" x 2-1/2" (50.80mm x 63.50mm).
  • Drill 1/8" (3.00mm) diameter holes in the neck, and 3/16" (4.75mm) holes in the body (if no holes are drilled).
